I heard that you a good show on Saturday. I missed it. My young and I typically listen before hitting balls in the backyard. Do you have any thoughts about posting archives of your show?
"I think it has a lot of future. I think it has to because of just the fact that people need to take care of themselves..."

If the future of something relies on what people should do, don't count on me to buy that stock.

I, for one, despise the golf cart. I hate the pullcart, too, but I understand that some people simply can't carry a bag. But if we really wanted to teach our kids the game of golf, we'd require them all to caddie more than a few loops before they ever played a round. And if that were the case, we'd have so many caddies looking for work, the golf cart (and pullcart) would be out of business.

I asked a golf course architect what a developer would save by not building cart paths. Answer: $500,000. The problem, he said, would be getting equipment around during the grow-in. I see the point, but is it not shameful that there's no way to develop "scaffolding" cart paths?

Jimmy,

In regard to your piece in May about John Daly....

His whole life is predicated on re-inforcing to himself his perception that, despite his many talents with a stick and ball, he is inadequate. Every bone-headed act that he commits, on and off the links, reinforces in his mind that he doesn't have to attempt to achieve a certain standard of exellence. "See, I just screwed up. Whew! Thank God. Now I don't have to summon the courage and energy required to prove to you and to myself that I'm a capable and genuine human being. Don't need to, now. I just screwed up again. What better illustration of my inadequacy do you want? I AM inadequacy. (Over his shoulder) Honey, bring me another beer." It's the emotional landscape of alcoholism.

Guess here is that there will be revelations in the next few months that, as you have suggested, the $50 million in gambling losses is actually much, much less. I suspect John's reply will be on the order of....."Oh. Was it only $20 million? Gee, guess I screwed up."
Awesome account of Canizares' driver fiasco. This is great stuff. I felt like I was there.

Now I'm interested to know how he hit the damn thing the rest of the day. Knowing The Hills like I do, might not've been a bad idea to look at Claar (when he showed up with the big stick) like he never knew him.
